Just curious, how many dead pixels do you have?

I own an LCD (Sony SDM-X73B) too.

Manufacturers reveal that for every 1 zero dead pixel monitor there are at least 10 with some dead pixels. I'm just trying to gauge how bad the problem is.

I have a SDM-X73B which carries a 3 year *on site* zero dead pixel warranty by Sony Australia - quite possibly the best LCD warranty in the world.

Dell UltraSharp 1901FP - 2 dead pixels on arrival and it's replacement has 1 dead pixel that appeared after about a month.

I sell a lot of Dell UltraSharps - from 17" to 20" and none of my customers have had any issues... and a Planar 20" that was ok.

Me = cursed?

I have one stuck on green sub pixel in my 191T, it's all the way on the bottom so I never notice it.

Yep, that's a great warranty on the SDM-X series. Pity it only seems to apply in Australia, and Sony doesn't even list them on their US site. Still, I'm testing a SDM-X53 right now, and it's got nary a defective pixel. It looks great, too (grey version), and the fact that it's using 18W compared to a 17" CRT's 70W is pretty impressive. No noticable ghosting, either. Just an impressive monitor all around for office work and gaming, IMO. Props to NewEgg for carrying the X series.

The first LCD i bought had one stuck red one, so i returned it for one with zero dead. I figure if they are gonna die over time, might as well start with none.

NEC 1760 ------> 3 stuck subpixels. All are only on dark backgrounds, none on white.

Bought a Viewsonic VG150 a couple years ago that had 7 stuck pixels. RMA'd it and the replacement had zero dead/stuck. Since then I've also bought an Acer 18" and a Dell 19". Both zero dead/stuck. Also bought a NIB 15" Dell from Mystic Llama in the for sale forum. Zero dead/stuck pixels. I guess I've been pretty lucky.

I have 3 or 4 on my Dell 2001FP (but they're very difficult to spot due to the dot pitch on this monitor. I have 1 or 2 on my Mitsubishi NXM56 which are plainly obvious, partly because of the larger dot pitch on the 15 inches.
