Francisco Rodriguez, 20 years old. That guy is going to have quite a career. Struck out the Giant's side in the 8th. How does the kid throw 95 MPH at 175 lbs? And has a wicked slider that no right handed batter can hit!

I'm rooting for the Angels because I can't wait to hear Chris Maddog Russo after the Giants lose. BTW, Troy Glaus will be playing third for the Yanks in a few years, you heard it here first. ;)

Sorry to hear you're a Mets fan. At least your immature, way-too-sensitive crybaby manager is gone. Art Howe seems like a decent guy and a pretty good manager.

Hopefully with revenue sharing the Yanks won't be able to buy Championships like they have on the past. Maybe they'll have to develkop their farm system again.

This win by the Angels proves how good the AL Western Division is. Of course they (the Halos) proved how good they were before the playoffs by keeping right on the tail of the A's even after the A's pulled off 20 wins in a row. The only thing that can beat the Angels is excellent pitching (like the A's had) Good pitching will slow them down but eventually, as they showed in this series, they are going to breakout.

[Jim Rome Mode]The only thing that bothered me about the Angels were those old ladies in the stands with their Bleached hair, those stupid Feather Halos and their guady Red Outfits they purchased on Rodeo Drive!! I wonder how many advid baseball fans were prevented from seeing the WS in person so those old rich bitches (probably Band Wagon Jumping Dodger Fans) could get a chance to be seen on TV with their ridiculous outfits? I wonder how many Angels fans at AT weren't able to go because of those Old Platinum Blonde Hags got their tickets?

Oh Yeah, the Rally Monkey needs to go too. The real Angels fans won't need some stupid Rat Monkey jumping up and down anymore to get excited about their team now that the Angels are the Champions of the World!!:)[/Jim Rome Mode]

I am on the "sick of hearing about Barry Bonds and glad that the giants lost" bandwagon.

Unless they are real Angels fans those who say crap like that are just Envy Merchants!

Bonds may be the most feared slugger this side of Babe Ruth, but in the end, pitch around him all the time and he can't push the team to victory. I actually don't care how he relates to the media, but he's known to be aloof to teammates and an inspiration to the Randy Moss's of the world.

The funny thing is, nobody knows how it's humanly possible for him to be entering his prime at this stage of his career, but any speculation aside, his now massive frame + lackluster attitude at times in left field make him a B defender at best whereas he was excellent earlier in his career. Arguably, his fielding clumsiness contributed to game 6 and 7 losses. The fact that a very fit athlete as Bonds is too fragile to play day starts after night games is also suspicious.

Frankly, I'd take Willie Mays in his prime over Barry right now no contest (and I'm too young to have seen Mays ever play). I'd also be inclined to take A-Rod right now straight up for playing better defense at a much tougher position.

The best thing you could say about Bonds is that they love him in S.F. and he's a huge draw for the ballclub and even MLB in general (after the media fell in love with him last season).

Personally, I'm an A's fan in SoCal and unless any of the sports teams I root for pulls a Dodgers of the past decade, it's unlikely for me to switch allegiances win or lose.

DEVELOP THEIR FARM SYSTEM?! You've got to be kidding me! Let's take a look at what their farm system "recently" produced. Andy pettite, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Ramiro Mendoza, Bernie Williams, Alphonso Soriano, Jorge Posada, Oh yeah and J.T. Snow. You may or may not have a legitamate beef with the Yanks paying highest dollar for free agents, but their farm system doesn't really need any developing. Just ask Drew Henson.

Barry at his age is better than Mays at the same age. As far as his defensive skills , I think the decline is due to his age more than his increased muscular physique. I'm sure he uses suppliments but you don't need steriods to bulk up like that. Creatine, Protien Suppliments and extensive Scientific Weight Training would add mucho mass to even the biggest Dweeb at ATOT if he really worked at it as hard as Pro Athletes do. While Bonds is huge, you compare him to those who were known to be juiced like Canseco and Caminitti and you can tell the difference just by their Physique. They were more misproportioned than Bonds is. Of course that's all specualtion as only Bonds and his trainers know for sure.

Regardin A-Rod. If he was pitch around as much as Bonds is he wouldn't even come close to putting up the same numbers as he does now

Hmm.. sounds like they do have a good farm system. BTW, I like having the Yanks in the middle of the Playoffs. It gives the Playoffs legitimacy IMO.

Well, they did a # of the Red Sox this year so I can't say I was a fan, but, when they met the yankee's in the 1st round I was definitely rooting for them! :D After that I was torn, not an angels fan but I like to see a team come together and win. They definitely did that.

I also wanted to see the Giants win, so, I could stop hearing about Bonds and his ring. At least Bonds said the right thing, it takes a team to win the Series and the Giants gave it a good run and Bonds did a good job contributing.

As a Red Sox fan, I can appreciate how much it sucks to loose in Game 6 when you were very close to winning. <Cough>$%@$&'86 Mets#$^!#^</Cough>

Congrats Angels! Well done.

No one suffers a season like a Red Sox or Cubs fan:) Now to me those are the real Baseball fans. They don't need some Rat Monkee to get them cheering for their team. Of course I don't think the real Angels fans do either. I remember when the Giants had the "Crazy Crab" one season for their mascot. They got rid of him because the Giants fans keeps throwing things and spilling beer on him. I wonder when Disney is going to have a full length animated movie about the "Rally Monkee"?

ive been a true angels fan since the days of dick schofield and johnny ray (circa 1990 and oh boy did they suck). walley joiner actually brought a lot of folks out to the big A way back when but after a decade of disapointment its been very tough to be an angels fan.

look in this thread for peoples' true favorite team
