how many of you are ok with UPS/fedex leaving packages at your front door?

My neighborhood is a dead end and I have lots of older neighbors that watch things like hawks so no real worries. I do however have most things delivered to work.

Since I live in crime-ridden Oakland, I have stuff left at my door all the time with no problems.

(Since I know multiple people who are scared to drive to my house, I enjoy poking at the Oaktown stereotype.)

I am NOT ok with it unless I specifically say it's ok in the "special delivery instructions" section. I've had UPS guys leave $250-400 computer components on my front doorstep when rain was imminent (yes, I know the boxes are sealed .. more or less), and I am NOT ok with that.

Same here.

Someone actually broke into our community drying machines and stole the change out of them. Last fall they ripped an LCD TV off of the wall in the exercise room. We've also had a few reported muggings in the complex. I wouldn't put it past them to steal any boxes lying around the complex.
