I'd like to set a rule or two down:
1. She's not your girl friend unless you've spent more than 75% of your time with her in person. There is no such thing as a girlfriend you've never met.
2. She's not your girlfriend if you haven't seen her in 2 years. Even if she is "Studying in Spain with Rodriguez, the studly Spaniard with a doctorate in Swimming Pool Hygenics".
