Currently my laptop is the best computer in the house because of the video card shortage. It was only $700 including a 1660 ti MQ so it is pulling gaming/VR duty but if I had too much money I'd have a proper desktop with a 3080 so once again no need for a laptop.
Not sure how you got such a great price on a gaming laptop. Usually, 1660 Ti in a laptop pushes its price to $900 or more.

Well timing, luck and a bad memory help.

Got it at Best Buy July of 2020. Prices had started to go up by then and I really wanted a cheaper gaming laptop with perhaps a 1050ti or 1650 as we had previously bought but none were available closer to $600 so I splurged and dropped $750 on the 1660ti model. I was not happy at the time to spend so much but in the long run it turned out to be a great laptop for the money.

As you say they are typically going for more now. Historically my model would be obsolete and on clearance for cheap by now with the 12th gen CPUs available but instead they go for a premium.
