used to speak a wee bit of Japanese way back when. Don't know shit now.

was conversational in Italian a few years ago. I can figure out the gist of what people are saying in movies, though. But it certainly isn't perfect.
 
Fluency - 2

Some knowledge/bables - several.

I need to refresh my Spanish skill, especially the listening part.

When you don't use the language, the skill will get rusty.

Edit: I read somewhere that you are mastered the language if you could do these 5 things without any difficulties:

1. Speak
2. Listen
3. Read
4. Write
5. Translate

My German is decent, I could get by if I were dropped into the middle of Germany. Took several years worth in high school.

I can understand some French and Spanish, but would be hard pressed to speak it. Took a year of each in high school

I spoke some basic Japanese after studying that also during high school, but haven't used it since and can only pick out a few words here and there if I hear it spoken.
 
English and Spanish, although my Spanish gets rustier and rustier every year since there are zero opportunities to use it. (Which might be a good thing?)
 
English and Spanish, both natively, but my Spanish is going to crap because I never get to use it even though southern CA is supposedly being invaded by illegals.

I speak a huge number of languages. Unfortunately I don't know what they are nor do I have any idea what I'm saying when I speak them. Sometimes I try to make sense of it all by the way my arms fly about.

I want to learn other languages, but it's always been one of those things that I need to be around on a regular basis to pick up and become fluent.
My friend said it took him 4 years of working in a warehouse with majority mexicans to become nearly fluent. Enough to carry on a basic conversation.
I've picked up on a few things here n there over the years, but not enough.

My friend told me about Rosetta Stone, so I'm going to get ahold of some of those language packs. Want to start and get good with spanish, then try to learn something else.
