read, write and speak english, portuguese, spanish. can understand and read italian and a little french. but cant write or speak.

I hardly consider knowing bits here and there of a language really count as knowing a language. Hell English confuses me most of the time and that is my native tongue.

English (of course), and probably enough Spanish to get by (communicate with others if I had to). Although that Spanish is fast fading....🙁

English.

I can speak enough spanish to get around a spanish speaking nation and survive. Maybe.

I know insults in German as well.

5. English, Latin, Italian, French, and Spanish (basically English + all the romance languages).

I'm fluent in English (obviously). I can read/speak Italian and Spanish at a passable level (Italian mostly because it's almost exactly the same language as Spanish). When it comes to Latin, I can only read the language (and not very well anymore... I don't get many opportunities to practice my Latin. heh); with French, I can only speak it (my parents and grandparents spoke French as I was growing up, but I never had any reason to learn it as a written language... I can read it if I have to, but I need to go slow and utilize my knowledge of other languages to figure out gramatical structures).
