Why pay the cost of the CD for a lossy encode with DRM and little to no archival capability? If you are going to pay for lossy music, at least use allofmp3 and screw the RIAA.
u mean screw the artist and the riaa
As opposed to being screwed by the artist and record companies by being forced to buy a $15 CD for one song for about 20 years now...
When you look at what's actually going on, all this is forcing the artists to release a good CD. I'll buy a CD if the whole thing is good... I won't buy one for just one song though, that's retarded. Throwing in a bonus DVD with some live stuff and interviews is also an incentive to buy the CD.
Why buy anything if it isn't good on the whole? Personally, I find that idiotic. Then again, I listen to albums.
If I want to listen to Stand Up, I start at A New Yesterday and listen. If I want to hear Days of Future Past, I go to THE DAY BEGINS and play until THE NIGHT is over.
I don't have anything on my playlist that isn't at least an entire disc (not counting a lack of bonus tracks on a few). Singles are, were, and still are, a rip-off. Until <$1 gets a
losslessly encoded single, it will remain a rip-off.
