How many items does it take in one order for shipping charges decrease at Newegg?

I don't think they decrease. I just got two OEM video cards-$7 shipping per, charged $14 total. For shipping about 8-10 oz. total (which they crammed into one box, even) standard shipping.

NewEgg is undoubtedly making money off its shipping and handling charges. I don't begrudge them this, just make sure you have the total cost in mind when deciding to buy from them or any other vendor.

Their prices still beat most others, so i dont really have much to say... But, when i order a whole system of OEM parts, i know the shipping is definately cheaper (10 or so items) for $35 shipped... Maybe they only lower it when they gotta send out the big boxes

I can't give you an exact figure, but shipping for what was essentially all the parts for a new rig was only about $25 (including a case, BTW).

Newegg impresses me more and more each time i order...

Usually it took an hour ir two to run the charge (when i called them once, they said they do it in blocks). This time it took exactally 15 seconds, already got the email..

I think that if you are buying items that have "shipping special", there is no discount on those items. If the shipping is quoted $5 (special) on each item, you'll pay $5 for each item.

I've bought seven or eight items and was charged a lower price for shipping than each item individually.

NewEgg is definitely playing a little 'hidden cost' game with their prices, but to a much lesser extent than others. I think that companies have little choice, because the one who gets the most traffic and interest is the one who advertises the low-ball prices. That's why I always ignore the first 5 resellers I get on PriceWatch, because you KNOW those companies are the worse low-ballers.
