how many hours of work do you actually do?

depends...can be as bad as 1 hour a day...or up to the full 8....average is probably around 5

The market's open for 6/12 hrs, i probably trade for about 4 hrs, between smoking cigarrettes, taking a leak, lunch. If there's alot of action, then probably for 5 1/2 hrs. But it's a 1hr commute each way on the subway, too and that sux.

i work distribution (grunt) and i do about 7 hours of HARD works a day

i worked out today that i walk on average 14 miles a day carrying/pushing loads upwards of 30kg's

I work 5 hours a day Monday through Friday. Probably about 2 hours of actual work a day.

It's not how many hours of work you do in a day, it's what your boss thinks you accomplish. I get about the same workload as others in my position, but do it twice as well in half the time. Most days I'm on the golf course by noon, but my boss thinks I'm a star. My company is based in New Jersey and all the big-wigs have offices there. I work in Connecticut and my boss couldn't even find Connecticut on a map of New England. As long as the results are good he's happy and as long as I get to work a bunch of half days I'm happy. Everybody wins.
