How many hours of sleep do you need or get?

Myself....I'm a total night owl, but I do need to get my 8 hours or I'm no good.

Sometimes I can get by with less, but I hate it.

I definitely love sleeping late....but that's because I go to bed late

How about you guys?
 
hard to quantify. for me to wake up and feel 100% rested, I need some uninterrupted sleep and I need to wake up naturally (ie: not by the alarm clock). sometimes that means 5-6 hours, and sometimes that means 8-9 hours. I try to always allow room for at least 7 hours of sleep, though.
 
Ideally 8-10. On weekends I get about 9-10 and on weeknights I get 7-8. My life is so much better since i stopped being chronically underslept.
 
For me to feel rested, I need to be in bed for about twelve to sixteen hours.

Of that, I probably sleep about 50% of the time, the rest of it being brief (seconds long) periods of semi-sleep.

My sleep pattern is kind of like a sine wave with a period of 10 seconds. Unless I'm medicated. 😉

12-16 hours!?!?!
Holy crap...

I usually get about 5 hrs sleep/night during the week, 7-8 on weekends...I'm so used to getting up at 4:30am that my "sleeping in" means I get up at 7:30am at the latest on the weekends.
 
8-10 hours is when I feel my best, but during the school year I probably average 6 or less... oh well, this year is my last year of high school!
 
I like 7-8.. but get by on 5.

All this week has been 4-6 hours per night. Too many hobbies for me.. combined with Family and Work is killer 🙁
 
I don't usually need that much sleep. I can get by with about 4 hours. I usually get more than that though. 🙂

Six is pretty normal, and I live on it. I wake up without an alarm if I try for seven.

Five or less and I can still function normally (as long as I don't have to sit in meetings), but start to feel it after three or four days.
 
Weekdays, I get 5-6 hours, weekends I get 8-12 hours. I would like to get 8 or 9 everynight.
