How many hours of sleep a day does it require for you to function properly/normally?

At least 8 to 10 hours of sleep, otherwise your immune system may not be able to function properly, and get enough oxygen to the brain.

8 is ideal for me, but I can get by with as little as 6. I voted 7. I've done worse and made it through the day.

I need at least 6. Any less than that and I'm struggling through the day.

Conversely, if I sleep more than 8 hours I tend to feel rotten as well.

I prefer about 8, but I tend to get around 6-7 a night. Although given sleeping normally without interruptions (alarms, etc), I tend to sleep about 10 hours. Maybe a bit of my body attempting to make up for the lack of sleep on other days.

If I get to bed by 1 I'm good. That means I get 6 hours of sleep, or 4 90 minute cycles. It's either 1am or 11:30pm and I can't get to bed that early.

I can get by with 6.5 but 7.5 i feel much better. Left to my own schedule I would sleep 9-10 hours then be awake for 20.
Too bad we have those pesky 24 hour days..

Exactly my response.

Less than 6 or 7 and I feel spacey all day.

Depends.. With speed, 0 hours is enough.. 😛
Without it (most of the times, don't get your panties in a wad.. 😛), usually 5 to 8 hours.

I can handle the day with 6 but it's really pushing it. 7 is about the least I can get where I feel like I'm near 100% the rest of the day. 8 is ideal. Anything over 8 ends up making me feel worse than if I had too little sleep.
