im salary... so it doesnt matter how many hours i do work.. i get paid for 40.

40 hours exactly. It's difficult to be approved to work overtime. I've only done an extra 7.5 hours all year.

For kids there sure is, in Minnesota it was like 18 hours a week for teens. And no more than 6 hours at one time.

As a kid, in NY, my working papers allowed more than that. I worked on a farm starting at twelve and know I would work thirty plus hours at busy times of the year. At sixteen I was able to start working a full time forty hours.

yes. and there are hard salary.. meaning that's what you make, if you work 10 hours... or 110 hours...

and there is soft salary... meaning your salary breaks down to an hourly wage... and you get paid HOURLY...

The last few comments kind of reminded me of when I worker as a case manager in Therapeutic Foster Care. I was salaried if I worked over 40 hours a week (paid for 40 hours). I was paid by the hour if I worked less than 40 hours. Very annoying.

True, but salaried means something different than salary. Hourly workers are paid to work the requisite hours. Salaried workers are paid to get the job done, regardless of hours required to accomplish it.
