40 hours plus 9-15 credit hours of school

Having a career and going to school is rough. I was waking up at 3:15am to go to work for 4am so that I could put in my hours and make it to afternoon classes. Fortunately I don't have to do that this semester.
 
I work a 40 hour week. Why is there a 30-40 and a 40-50 choice when 40 is the standard work week for so many?

Oh, that's right, you wanted me to ask that. Now you'll act shocked that it's different than England.

In general no.
For kids there sure is, in Minnesota it was like 18 hours a week for teens. And no more than 6 hours at one time.

For many dangerous or arduous jobs there are also limits.

I don't think so, but typically non-salaried employees have to be paid 1.5x their hourly rate for every hour above 40. For salaried employees I don't think there is a cap, but I'm not sure. I'm salaried and we always get something called "extended work week" which is straight 1x pay for every hour over 40. Apparently it's not a requirement, but they know that people won't stand for it if they don't give us some kind of compensation.

Edit: Also, you might want to shift the intervals slightly. By far the most common work week in the US is 40 hours, and that's a break point in your poll.

No reason really, I assumed people with either work 39.5 hours or maybe 40.5 but very rarely exactly dead on 40.

Go on, act confused and call me an idiot.

Fair enough, just curious, in the UK you can't work more than 46 hours per week average over a two week period.
 
Most days of the week, I'm at the school 7:30 am until on average, 5pm. Jan-March, it's until 7 every night for about 3 out of 5 days. During the winter sports season, it's until about 8:30 pm on nights of swim meets. Plus the hours spent at home grading tests and stuff.

Then, I have a farm that needs work. I probably average about 10 hours a week doing that. On top of that, some of my hobbies require what most people would consider to be jobs. Right now, I'm converting our garage into an "apartment." So, I've been doing some major plumbing work, electrical work (about 500 feet of wire so far), propane lines, framing, drywall, concrete work, etc.

Over the course of the year, I probably average about 60-70 hours of work each week.
 
Typically 50hrs. I work 44hrs in my paid job then another 7hrs per week directing hockey games for the local cable access station. It varies depending on what I'm doing at my volunteer job. I was pushing 60 last week with all the xmas stuff and two games.
