partial spinoff from the USB stick thread, but I am curious. I seem to purchase these once a month, but I can't actually figure out what I use them for!? Seems like I keep needing more though....
Let's see... PC-switch, PS3-switch, XB360-switch, cable box-switch, switch-receiver, receiver-TV, laptop-monitor... That's 7 in use right now. And I have another 5-7 in my box of PC leftovers. So 11-15, I reckon.
Dunno for sure...2 for each of our 2 TVs. (cable box to TV, BD to TV) Plus a handful of spares...each time we change TV providers, we get a new one...and I bought a few from Monoprice last year.
I own one and rarely use it. I don't watch much TV anyway. I didn't bother paying extra for a cable box to receive extra channels and more HD channels. Mostly watch analog or digital channels on TV when I see a show or movie I like. I don't own any consoles or play games.
I spend most of my spare time using my laptop instead of sitting in front of a TV. Weird I know.
6 that I use I believe, have 4 or 5 other shorties that came with things that were replaced.
Yep, Monoprice is good for those, have had to buy a couple longer ones in the past.
11-15.
I use them for anything cable related, even upgraded the sound system with some heavier gage oxygen-free wire awhile back, and it did make a difference over the old stuff I'd had hooked up for years.
8-10. I bought spares a while back just to have on hand. Bestbuy had their Monster (regular $129) for $99, picked up a few. Couldn't pass up such an awesome deal.
edit: yes I am joking about monster, although I did see one for $119 or $129 at bestbuy the other day (12' or 20', can't remember which). I stock pile from ebay for a couple bucks a cable.
I've ordered about 6 of them, and had two fail so far. Can't complain because monoprice has them so cheap, and I always know to try a different cable if I have display problems.
3-4... My first one came free with my PS3 -- OMFG, they were $30 a pop back then -- then I got one with a monitor and a TV or two.
I'm glad, actually. I have over a dozen USB cables in USB 2.0 A (?) to mini-B size because every little device comes packed with one. I only have one USB 3 cable though.

A lot of people don't know and trust the salesman. When I bought my dryer a few years ago, the salesman tried to sell me a $100 Monster dryer cable. He said it would use 25% less electricity and prolong the life of my dryer. Lol.
