In Win98SE at 1024x768x32 with everything maxed I get 97.2 fps, 102.5 with no sound. I was pretty disappointed when I got 60 fps in Win2k so I quickly uninstalled it.

1024x768x32 - 87.5fps
SOYO 6BA+IV
256MB HSDRAM PC133@150MHz 3-2-2
P!!! 500 @750MHZ
ASUS V6800 Pure Geforce DDR (not overclocked except for the 100MHz AGP Slot) and NVIDIA 6.31 drivers
WIN2K

10x7x32 with all details and game options maxed out is about 63-65FPS on my Athlon 550 with 128MB of RAM and a Radeon 64MB (Retail so 183mhz one)

(It might got a little faster with a clean install I have quite the driver mess in there, I haven't removed my 3dfx drivers even yet)

~30FPS@640x480 with HQ settings & happy with that 🙂30FPS seemed fast enough to me, Quake3 is IMHO damn boring game anyway...

98.3 1024x768x32 Everything Maxed

Win2k
P3-650E@982
256mb Ram
CL Gf2 GTS 32mb.

P.S. Layzie310, you had v-sync on. Win2k OpenGL for nvidia runs at the same speed as win9x.

With the Loki Config, the game will look like pure crap but your FPS double.
So you can get like 300FPS, but the game will look mad crappy.

Peace,
Nore

Yes but when you get 200-300 fps constantly the game is much easier, you can move faster it seems and make tougher jumps that are flat out hard with lower fps. A fast config may make the game look ugly, but it seems even easier to see the enemy when it's uglified, as they said in the article.

Personally I think this thread has little bearing, most everyone has different configs, from the q3 config to your Nvidia OpenGL settings. Maybe some people have 16 bit textures, maybe some don't have on the anisotropic filtering enabled, it's hard to compare Q3 scores unless everyone just puts in on the default High Quality settings, then pumps it to 1024x768.

I like to run in 800x600 myself, even tho I have a 19" monitor and a GF2. I usually run my ugly config when I want to be competitive, but lately I've been using an ultra high quality config, but still in 800x600 to make it playable. Try these settings and then run some timedemos:

r_lodBias -2
r_subdivisions 1
r_lodCurveError 10000
r_ext_compress_textures 0 (to get rid of the crappy sky, not using S3TC has little to no effect with the 64 meg GF2's)

I get 90FPS at 1024x768x32 Max settings. I have a T-Bird 900@1035 and a Annihilator Pro (GeForce 1 DDR)

With every option complete cranked up 1024x768x32bit runs around a constant 80fps. If I disable high quality sound it jumps to 95fps. Thats with all the options.

I play lan-boy style(640x480x16 all options DISABLED) anyways so I get a constant 125fps. The higher your FPS the faster you move.

<< 10x7, 32bit all settings maxed, I get 130FPS. Hehehe, I love my comp. >>

130 fps at 32bit 1024 = bullshit!!!

why people come in here and measure their testosterone with framerates is beyond me, and the guys that lie about it will never get passed 3rd base!
