How many email accounts should I have?

Every day all of my four email accounts get flooded with tons of spam. Now I even associate email with spam. That's probably because I've been using all of these accounts for more than 2 years! The longer you use them, the more spam you get I guess.

So today I decided to register a couple (or more?) of new accounts. How many accounts do you have and why? Do you think it's enough to have 4, 2 or maybe just one? (Actually, I'm leaning to register just one account not to bug me, but I fear that may be not enough.) Plus, I'll have to change emails everywhere I was ever registered (forums, online auctions etc) and that's a huge PITA. Spammers must die, obviously. I have to drop my email accounts regularly because of them. And mind you, I never register @ any porn sites and basically always hide my email.

hmmm ... home, work, junk account, extra one i rarely use but still hang on to for some stupid reason

I'm like BurnItDwn. I have 4 accounts, and trying to cut back to 3.

1 personal, only given to friends/family
1 business, given to cc companies, banks, on my business cards
1 spam, given to register on random forums, to download stuff from stupid sites where staff@mp3.com is already registered.... 😛

If you use an email anonymizer, e.g. SneakEmail then you probably only need one.
