How many drinks does it take for that "happy" feeling (buzz)

I noticed my alcohol tolerance took a dip the past couple of months. I drink occasionally, socially if possible.

So, I was just wondering how many drinks, beers, shots, it takes for people to acquire a buzz.

I've gauged somewhere between my 2nd and 3rd beer. Granted, I come from a long line of alcoholics, but with none of my family's negative effects (rage, spousal abuse, looking for trouble, taking a drive after drinking, etc.)... I just sort of mellow out, put some tunes on, and chill. I'm a nice drunk lol. Actually, haven't gotten drunk in quite a while, don't see the point.

Anyway, I digress, and apologize for not creating a poll... so open discussion it is.

You sound young. That's a good thing. :)

It depends. <--How's that for an ambiguous answer? :p

1. How high your tolerance is (experienced drinker or not?)
2. Body fat
3. Weight
4. Many other physical factors (are you tired? sick? on drugs already?)

I am an experienced drinker. 4-5 strong Bourbon and Cokes gets me a teeny buzz. BUT, I have the presence of mind to say "I have been drinking. Do NOT grab her ass. Do NOT punch him in the face, though he begs for it" Etc, etc.

It's all about self control.

29 yrs old. Used to be able to have a 6 pack and not miss a beat... maybe my metabolism has slowed down.

1. Would say I'm experienced.
2. 7%
3. 175 lbs.
4. Healthy, no drugs since my late teens, or was it early 20's, or late 20's, damn bong residue!!! J/K.

There are so many factors that contribute to how buzzed you feel it is impossible to gauge how many it will take.

Full stomach...part full...empty.

Dehydrated...little dehydrated...just drank 32oz of water.

Good mood...OK mood...pissed off.

What you are drinking.

Couple of weeks ago, I had been working in the yard for a few hours, not drinking water. Feeling good for manly work, dehydrated, and on an empty stomach. About the time I was finishing putting stuff up, my wife pops out and say "Miller time" with a couple of frozen margaritas in her hand for us. I was so thirsty I practically downed the first one. In addition to brain freeze, I got downright loopy off just the one drink.

Other times on a full stomach and in a pissy mood, I can drink all night pretty heavily and it takes forever to get the buzz going.

Totally varies. I can be happy off of one beer one day, another day I could pound a 6 pack and you wouldn't know I had been drinking short of smelling it on my breath.

Generally though, once I hit that 4-5 range I start feeling pretty good.

I'm 35, 175lbs, and I can feel it after one drink. Two to three, and I've got a good buzz going...

I'm 21, ~120 lbs, and drink about 3-4 days a week. A 40oz gets a good buzz goin.

Should eat before the drink so you can slowly increment your booze instead of going from a buzz and then overshooting into vertigo

Usually about 8-10oz of wine, or probably about 5 beers. I drink about 4oz of wine a day usually, so I rarely meet or cross the "happy feeling" threshold.

Unfortunately I've built somewhat of a tolerance for alcohol so it takes me a little more than it used to.... I would say 3 beers and I'm really feeling it.... I do have to point out though that I'm talking about microbrewery beers... The alcohol content is more like 6% on up in those 12 oz beers.... My girlfriend?s family owns a Brewery, it's fun, and I brew some beer and wine with them sometimes. Very good beer? Although I have to say that I'm a JD person myself.

6 Beers for a buzz. A good buzz, at that. Drunk, anywhere between 7-12.

At 15, I'm worshipping the porcelean god.

I wasn't into JD until I had the Gentlemen Jack.
