I would have expected you do have a rottweiler or German Shepard or something. Not lap dogs. :p

While I would have preferred a larger dog, IMO, the yard here is too small for a large dog. Not fair to the animal to be cooped up in a yard that's too small for them to be able to roam.

The little rat-dogs are fine. They make noise when anyone comes to the door, when anyone's messing around the house...when anyone walks down the sidewalk in front of their house, when a dog 3 streets over starts barking, when...............

But, they're good companions. (althoughfor their diminutive size, they're huge bed-hogs.)

At least you thought about it first. Well done. My dad says the same thing about their dogs...big time bed hogs.

None, but I have a cat. I have nothing against dogs, they can but lot of fun to have around and are great companions but they're more maintenance. I just have to feed my cat and empty her litter, play with her for a bit, and she's happy. I'm gone all the time since I work full time, so think if I had a dog it would get lonely.

I've thought of getting a second cat, as they could play together and keep each other company, but not sure what my cat would think of that at first. :p

I want a Husky and/or a German Shepard

IMO, those are "cold weather dogs." Not really suited for our northern Kahleeforneeya climate. It just gets TOO HOT for them here...but, it's a free country...and lots of people insist on having those breeds. (American Eskimo dogs as well) <shrug>
