How many displays can you have active in SLI/Crossfire?

Say I had two Radeons or two Geforce 4xx cards, both dual display, in Crossfire/SLI. Would I be able to run 3 or 4 monitors on them? I completely forgot :\

This would be on Win7.

You can have up to 4 monitors with 2x GTX4xx cards, but only 3 if SLI'd for 2D Surround or 3D Surround. I think eyefinity can have up to 6 monitors with two cards but you may need display port adapters (active). Unsure.

On the NV Side, you can have:

4 displays active with SLI disabled.
2 displays active with SLI enabled.
3 displays active with 2d/2d Surround enabled.

You can also add additional cards not part of the SLI set and add as many additional displays as you want on top of that.
