How many discs is UT2003 supposed to include?

@#!# I just bought Unreal Tournament 2003 from my local Goodwill store for $3.99. Everything looked new! It included 3 discs and I looked for any mention of any other disc but there were none. My local Target has been donating tons of returned and new items to Goodwill and I thought I got another good deal out of it (Grand Therft Auto III, $4. NEW XBOX Controller S, $13. NEW XBOX DVD remote, $10, etc). I just got finished installing off the third disc and I clicked play only to be greeted with the only mention anywhere of a fourth disc: "Wrong disc in drive. Please insert the disc labelled 'Unreal Tournament 2003 Play Disc' to continue."

@#!@

BTW, a disc is hardware, so this is apropriate. Does anyone here have a physical fourth disc? :D

that's right, Disk One is the disk which needs to be in the drive. However, if the disk has been copied or altered in any form, it won't work since UT2003 CDs feature SafeDisk2 copy-protection and as you can guess, non-original disk do not work.

Oh thank God! Someone needed to update their installer when the final disc were pressed because it is NOT labeled "Unreal Tournament 2003 Play Disc" like the launching app states (Not even the software label of course)! Thnx ppl... jumped to the wrong conclusion, logically though :)

Oh, and I would never buy copied software! Though I do have a drive capable of copying SafeDisc2 protected games and Daemon-Tools can run any SafeDisc2 protected game no matter what drive copied it :)

UT2003 uses cd checks too so you cant copy it yet.

Yeah, I know about UT2K3's C-Dilla protection :)
Makes my PC their own digital rights management system...

no cd cracks work, and if you use the same key on more than one machine, they can play together, not that i would know that ;)

I just got UT2003 as well... also was mislead about the "play disc" issue. Ooops on thier part. :D It didn't slow me down long though--a couple hours later I had completed the single player ladder. w00t!

Heheh, well, when UT2k3 first asked for my"Play Disk" I scurried about looking for it! When one wasn't found I just threw in Disk 1 with my fingers crossed. :)

Because of my "source" I assumed the worst and I jumped on the forums first
Of course, I'm very relieved! :)

Perhaps the guy that returned it to Target before it was donated to Goodwill thought it was missing a disc? :D
