I basically have two. the first I use for low security things such as forums and messenger services. the second I use for paypal, ebay, e-mail, etc., usually with additional numbers or symbols attached to it.

76 entries in your spreadsheet, but only 1 to get into your spreadsheet, correct?

edit: by the way, do you use a special program to create password spreadsheets? I'm assuming you don't just use excel.

About twenty, but each is based on one of five key words/names.
e.g. duckhunt33, duck%hunt0, Duck@Hunt87, 45duckhunt.

about 4 or 5.
there are two that i used a lot, for low security and high security.
also maybe a couple that's basically a variation of the two, because some place do not accept special character such as ampersand or question mark.

I uses Excel from Office 2k3 with one password. I generate password from looking around my area for a word and then add some numbers. For example veritas23, nortel271

Why has there been no standard set for password requirements ? I hate when some places/apps require a 6 char minimum while some others require 8... while some others require alphanumeric while some others require alphanumeric with an upper case not at the beginning.

:|

Why can't the computing world standardize on password format ? I don't care if it has to be complicated, as long as they all accept the same standard.

I used to have a different password for everything I used, even different sns and stuff. It was pretty difficult remembering all of them so now I have 2 that I use

If I had the same password for everything, then I'd have to REMEMBER different passwords for every obscure website I register for. Either that, or I'd have to store them somewhere, which is not good. I use 3 different ones, one is a plain english word that I use for things I don't care about, one is a string of letters and numbers that have some very obscure significance in my life that I use for most things, and one is a completely random string of letters and numbers that I use for secure stuff.

BTW, a good password mgmt program is Password Corral.
I was going to try something like this, but I still find the idea of storing all my passwords in one place a little creepy :/

Just 2.

I used to have another which was my Air Force serial number. I'm saving that in reserve. No one would ever figure that one out.

I wrote my own program in access\vba to store my passwords for me and my coworkers. We have 8 systems here at work, all of which require different passwords that must be changed every 90 days, with unique passwords. Way way way to many to keep track of. To make it worse, you only get 3 tries to guess your password before you are banned from the system, and you have to call the helpdesk to get a new password. It sucks hardcore.

I have quite a few. I have my 'master' password that I don't revel to anyone, and a very simple hash function I can do mentally (H(x)) on it. My most important passwords are H(x), next level down is H(H(x)), etc. btw, my anandtech password is 8 down ;)

I use one for school which they assigned...
The other I have been using since the days of AOL 2.0 when my password got messed up and the person on the line assigned me an arbitrary one... funny how I kept it and used it for everything

my passwords are of the unguessible type. My old password for mail was "w32mf76c". I no longer have that account, but almost all of my passwords are like that. Good luck trying to guess that with a dictonary brute force program :p
