Okay.. there is the classic celeron right.. the slot1 kind?
then there is the PPGA kind.. these aren't green.. they are just chips with lots of pin outs on top right?
and then there are the green ones?
Sorry.. I never had one... I just got one (333 slot) and I just want to know more about them.. thanks.

there are these celerons:

1)
classic,
based on the p2 core, no cache
2)
"a",
also based on the p2 core, but this time with half the cache as a p2 and it was at full core speed.
3)
"celmine"
this celeron is based on the p3 coppermine core and has 1/2 the cache & 1/2 the bandwidth on the cache as the p3 coppermine.
3a)
same as the celmine but this time @ 100Mhz bus instead of 66Mhz like all of the other celerons

So you think my slot1 333 is the classic type? Is this a good overclocker? NO CACHE?!! That's gotta suck :(

SEPP Celeron without L2 cache
SEPP Celeron
PPGA Celeron
FC-PGA Celeron
FC-PGA Celeron with 100Mhz fsb

code name omitted, check intel website for that.

The 333 may also be the 333A (Mendocino) with 128K Cache and very well overclockable...:D
The 300A and 333A were slot1. Just analyze it with some tool (h-oda), if there's cache or look up the die size..."A"=bigger die...

Just adding the speeds...

SEPP Celeron without L2 cache 266 and 300 MHz
SEPP Celeron 300 and 333 MHz
PPGA Celeron 366-533 MHz
FC-PGA Celeron 500-766 MHz
FC-PGA Celeron with 100Mhz fsb 800+ MHz

As far as I remember...the FC-PGA 500A never hit the streets officially, but it appears in the tech specs from intel...

Yup, it's got the 128 cache... or at least, that's what the auction says.. I can't wait till it gets here.
