How many different fighting styles are there? How many do you know?

So I was playing Tekken last night using the character Bruce who fights with his elbows and knees. Since those are the hardest points of the body that kind of fighting style seems like it could inflict a lot of damage. So that got me to wondering is it that actually a real fighting technique, if so what is it called?

There are probably hundreds of Kung Fu schools that focus on knees and elbows. Snow leopard, I believe, is one such animal school.

That sounds bad ass.

Yeah man, I beat that dude down with my snow leopard technique

There's a new character in Tekken 5 named Feng, I'm not sure what fighting style he uses but he kicks ass

IIRC Bruce fights with 'Muai Thai'.

Fighting has a lot of different styles and points.

Muai Thai inflicts a lot of damage but any style can do so also. Great for stand up but poor on the ground. Going to ground ala BJJ style is very iffy in most scenarios due to the ground being hard and the settings of most fights and people getting your back when your fighting!

Can't wait for Tekken online so I can pwn you :)

What is that one invented by Mosad? It's a cross between Kung Fu, street fighting and all out no holds barred grab-a-bottle brawling.

In real life there seems to basically be 3 fighting styles:
1) Aviod fighting/run away.
2) Anything I can think of using my fists
3) KInives/Guns/other weapons.

Muai Thai, otherwise known as Thai Boxing. I took it for a while... very, very brutal style.

Also, whoever would ask the question "what fighting styles do you know?" really needs to stop playing video games and do something constructive with their time.
