How many credits did you start college off with (because of AP classes)

I did not have a credit card when I started at unversity, that was 40 years ago. but now I have, and many credits as well 😀

came in with 67 units and took junior standing this spring quarter... ap test-wise: calc bc, bio, chem, physics, eng lit, eng language, spanish language... got some credit for all of them, but it really depends on the school and major. some credits from community college courses too.

coursewise, no it hasn't been the easiest, but then again, neuroscience is not an easy major. like the others said, check with the school and department and you should be able to get exactly what you're lookin for... but don't expect to get out of bio if you're a bio major, or CS if you're an engineering major. most departments want you to go through their intro courses. oh, this is my first year here. finals week... :disgust: got a long way to go... good luck.

I don't have AP, I have "Dual Enrolled". I am enrolled in my HS class and my Local college at the same time. It nothing like AP courses. It like a regular college class, but at my HS. By the time I graduate and go to college, I'll have 40 credit hours.

Damn, I must have been superNERD 🙂 I had 10 AP classes going into UCLA plus 4 classes from a JC to get me in with Junior standing. Even with that it took me frickin' 4 years to graduate double in Biology and vert morphology. Helped out quite a bit as I never showed up to my freshman classes (partied and played computer games 24/7), but now I wish I had more of a life in HS. Oh well....

I started with 36 hours of credit. heheh.. was a sophomore before stepping in a classroom.. i got friends who have been there 2 or 3 years that could still be called freshmen. 😀 Just a note to all your high-schoolers, if you can take some AP classes, even though they suck when you take them, they could pay off in the end.

Zero. I took a few AP classes my senior year in High School, but didn't take any of the tests. Then, while lots of other people were stressing and freaking out their first semester in college, I relaxed and got a four point because half of my classes were review 😛

I got a pre-cal credit for the SAT2 math IIC (720) and an english credit for SAT2 writing (680)

What sucks is that the SAT2 writing gave me the same credit as an English AP i took, and since I only got a 4 on the AP and a high score on the SAT2, I got 3hrs of A credit by claiming the SAT2 and the AP counted for nothing... Oh and the pre-cal was just 3hrs of A credit to apply as an elective, just a GPA booster... Kinda like the SIXTEEN HOURS OF "A" CREDIT i got for taking one easy 2hr spanish test... =D

<< as a Senior i have 43 hours from: AP's(9), SAT2s(6), CLEPs(19), and summer school (9) >>

Woah you get college credits for SAT2's? What kind of score do you have to get??

thx for the responses, for the people that started off college with a good number of credits did you have a really easy course load the first term because what is it you need 15 credits a term to graduate in 4 years??

i started off w/ 26 units and after 8 semesters i have <120 units, thats 96 units over 8 semesters or just over 12 units per semester. 12 units is the minimum, so basically im a slacker. i recommend finishing college as fast as possible, dont make the same mistake i did and play starcraft all day.

i started off with 56, but my college is really a pain in the ass with AP credit. If i had gone to UTexas, i probably could have gotten something like 90 (I took 14 tests).
In the end most of those credits are useless since im an engineering major and everything except math and science counts for sh*t. Still plan on graduating a year early, but im gonna have to work for it.

I think I will end up having a few AP classes so I will have some credits but I won't be like a sophmore when I step in the door.

I started off with 37 (semester credits no less) but I pretty much killed all of them because I'm gonna graduate with way too many credits and they'd kick me out after a certain amount.

I started attending college in the 11th grade. Got my english courses, two math courses and two biology courses out of the way, while still going to HS. I would take HS classes in the morning (the required stuff) and my "electives" were college classes in the afternoon.

You can attend both HS and college campuses in the same day? Nice stuff.

Damn you people... I took International Baccaleuriate and got 9 credits... at leats it got me out of freshman and sophmore english, and the required History class.... so they were 9 useful credits.
