6. All are paid off. I just shop around for the best cash back deals and when I'm "done" with a card, they get sock-drawered. I'll occasionally dust them off and charge packs of gum to them to keep them alive on my credit rating.

I'll keep applying for them too... My limits and credit rating can choke a horse. How many people do you know who bought a house at 20? It's all about playing the game...

Yea, blah blah, your credit-penis is overwhelming...

Besides debt to income ratio is more important when making large purchases.

Anyone that feels the need to blab on and on about the amount of credit they have needs to get help. They have major self-esteem issues.

Trying to keep my credit open... just 2. Providian Platinum and a Amex Blue. Considering a switch to a Citi rewards card for the Visa/MC front instead of the providian.

0...I got denied by Citi student card, Chase (with my dad as a co-signer), and I recently applied for a Chase +1 card. I'll probably get denied again (I'm a freshman in college...no credit..etc :() What's the point of student credit cards when a student can't get approved for it?

Zero, lucky for me I don't have one at all, unless I have a good reason.

I have 7 to my name, but I know I need to cancel several of them. I've tried in the past to cancel, but am on hold for like 10+ minutes waiting for someone on the phone, then I just screw it and hang up.

Disco Plat
AMEX True
Citi Div Plat

I use them all at least once a month for groceries, gas, junk I don't need. Rather easy to pay off the statements in full each month.

Also have a BofA VISA Plat ATM Debit/Check card.

about 18+ including store cards.

If there is an offer... like $$$ off the first purchase, i take the offer, pay the bill then store the card in the closet.

Just 1: Citi Dividend Platinum Select. Paid off each month in full, and I haven't been reduced from 5% back on everyday purchases to 2% :)

Rebates FTW!

Your parents must have seriously farked up credit. Isn't that the only thing they go by if you have no credit?
