Got one just last Saturday after consecutive days of a fatigued routine. Tested positive, my experience is shared quite a bit in the COVID thread.

It was a polymerase test.

During the early onset when Covid-19 came out, medical labs scrambled to be the first one to come out with a reliable way check if you had it or not.
Accuracy varied on these testing methods and sometimes couldn't be trusted.

Zero, I did get an antibody test before I got the vaccine just out of curiosity - I've not been able to quarantine/work from home and figured I may have picked it up at some point, but it was negative.

Zero. I don't know what I'd do with the information either way. Avoiding humans is a lifestyle choice, so it would be useless trivia that costs money.

I test myself twice a week but it's just a lateral flow test. I work at the hospital so it's to try to minimise the risk of us spreading the disease to patients.

Testing is covered by Fed Govt so it's technically no cost to you, although your tax dollars eventually pay for it.

None. If I had to travel outside my region I'd go get one just to be safe but have not had to.

I'd be curious to get an antibody test though but it's not really something they do here. If you donate blood they do one but they don't tell you results.

10+ total, but more frequently since Thanksgiving. For the last month I've been going weekly because I'm helping my parents do a bunch of stuff at their new house. This and our office is open to the public so I can't WFH and we've been surprisingly busy all winter.

5 - 1 voluntarily and 4 for mandatory screening before getting procedures done at the hospital.

I gotta get one next week though. Went out with this girl last weekend and definitely broke protocol. So far no symptoms but I want to get one before seeing my mom again in case I am asymptomatic.

Antibody test, came back as negative. It was early on, though, so the accuracy of the test is suspect.

4. Twice because I was sick with flu like symptoms for 5 days each. Twice because I had a couple of hospital procedures this year.
All negative (3 PCR, one quick test of some sort).

one nose swab. asymptomatic. I could schedule one per day at work if I wanted, but I never get around to it. Considering I've taken Metro 3-4 days per week since Septembrish, I probably should have taken more, but I haven't.

No illness yet.

One. It was at work and everyone was tested as a screen. I was negative as expected.

I have only been sick once in the last 12 months. I had symptoms of a mild flu. It was early March 2020, before Covid was really here. My wife had the same symptoms as I did and tried to get tested. The Covid tests were impossible to get at the time, so they gave her an influenza test instead. She was positive for influenza. I just assumed that I too had influenza.

But since then, the distancing and mask wearing have kept me healthier than I can ever remember. This is the first February in quite a few years that I don't have bronchitis.

1, shortly after my mother tested positive & they happened to be doing free testing for the week. I tested negative.

1 antibody test too about a month later

It is? My insurance won't cover it if i don't have a doctors OK first. Probably easy enough to get the ok from my doctor but i just can't walk in & get tested without paying.

This could depend on the locality

It is true that many insurances will not do them without a referral. Even Medicaid Kasier still requires a video visit to get the test in their system. But in the two major problem counties in my area, the respective counties do offer free testing sites for anyone, I could have went to these sites that are accessible for all if I felt just fine but wanted to make sure.

One was a CDC trailer. That's where my mom got tested.
