Italy is probably my favorite foreign country... everything just seems very chill there, though it seemed to also have the highest concentration of gypsies.

I liked France a lot, but I could really see it sucking if you didn't speak the language. some people in France totally refused to help out my friends till I stepped in and worked as a translator with my mediocre french (even though they probably totally spoke english). at least in Italy, people seemed more amenable to our efforts at pointing and gesturing I went to Europe with 5 people, none of whom spoke Italian. haha. though it wasn't *too* bad, between people who knew spanish and the fact that we all knew latin (had to study it in high school)
