You changed your political ideology? Bush doesn't affect ideology - he may affect party affiliation though. Conservatives are still Conservatives regardless of who is in the White House.

What does "why do I stay" mean exactly?

Even though Bush is not as conservative as I would prefer, there are no other alternatives that more closely resemble my sensibilities than the Republican Party. The current presidential administration is but one facet of the party and by no means defines it.

It's not like I'm going to go liberal because Bush isn't conservative enough. Not going Libertarian either, I like the interstate highway system and do believe that while the scope of our Federal government does overreach what it was originally intended, real life in the modern world does necessitate a certain amount of Federal interventionalism. Libertarians are too far right where the role of the Federal government is concerned IMHO.

I agree, that dosen't make much sense. But unfortunately most people like to keep things very simple into neat little classifications, so for them when they hear democrat, they automatically assume liberal, and Republican is automatically assumed conservative. So don't let those associations get to your head, especially with specific politicians like Bush. Always measure the politician with your ideology, instead of the other way around.

Just because you are left-winged, does not mean you use the right side of your brain!

I don't think its too fair to use the term liberal and conservative during this administration's reign. I mean, there are probably a good number of conservatives here who stand to the LEFT of Bush, making the usual name calling a bit inaccurate

This administration is not that conservative in terms of spending and there crappy medicare deal is just terrible.

I'd love to see a libertarian that is worth voting for get into the race.

It wasn't really offtopic...I was commenting on Corn and CADkindaGuy's posts that Bush isn't really a conservative.

Clearly you can't read. No where in my post did I say Bush isn't really a conservative. And Corn stated this: "Bush is not as conservative as I would prefer" and "... Bush isn't conservative enough"

But I suppose you went to the same school as Bowfinger....so I'm not suprised.

Which school is that? Cause I think that I could probably best it. Besides, it doesn't matter if I made a mistake. You do too right? Or are you like Bush- perfec and without faults?

Nope - I have many faults and don't claim to be perfect.:)
I'm just stating what you said was false -sorry if that hurts your feelings.
