I have two desktops and a laptop. One desktop is the gaming machine, nothing on it but OS, antivirus, firefox and games, stripped down so it doesn't get gummed up. Other desktop I've always used for the bulk of surfing and downloading, storage, etc.

I've always had the mentality of the more computers the funner, but I'm to point where having keep up with the two desktops and switch back and forth for stuff is getting to be a PITA. Three machines to update and keep tidy(including the laptop). I think I'm going to get rid of one of the desktops and move everything to the better of the two.

Keep an eye out on FS/FT. A 2.5Ghz P4 machine might show up on there in the near future. ;)

1, a Dell D600 Laptop. It plays all teh games I want to (with limited options, but i dont care about gfx so its ok), and it does all the work I need it to do. Plus I can carry it around with me. Also, it was free, since im on financial aid and my college paid for it :p.

Three. Well, 2.1.

One running Win2k
One running Ubuntu
One running IPcop

I'm working on learning how to use linux, and use the Win2k and Ubuntu PCs side by side, which basically makes me have a four monitor wide desktop. The IPcop is a router that I have stashed behind my TV. It's nice that it keeps the wifi network seperated from my wired :)

2. Desktop for gaming, storing MP3's and torrents. Laptop for every day internet, email, IM use. Several others laying around and waiting to be sold for parts when I actually stop procrastinating long enough to do so.

My fiance and I have 2 laptops and 3 desktops.

We usually just use 2 of the desktops & I use a laptop mainly on Sundays to track my fantasy football teams in front of my NFL Sunday Ticket. :p

Wife has two that she uses - desktop and laptop.

I regularly use 2 computers at home.

My Linux box (1.8ghz celeron Dell server, 384mb ram, integrated ATI graphics, running slackware with xorg (fluxbox WM))
My Windows box (athlon X2 4200, 2gb ram, ATI X1800XT, dual monitors, winxp )

May as well include these
an Athlon XP HTPC that I haven't touched in a while
an Athlon 64 that I use as my lan box / backup gaming rig

Define regular use. Does sitting in a corner running S@H count? If yes, then I have 4 machines in active use. A 2.4Ghz Cely SFF Optiplex, a 2.52Ghz P4 HP SFF Evo, an A62x2 4200 full tower, and my Sager 5720 notebook.

I've been debating whether or not to pick up another minitower from the Dell Outlet store though.

This is the exact same setup I have up to and including wanting to ditch one of the desktops. I'm going to buy a new laptop soon, drop the other off at goodwill, and then get rid of the second desktop.
