How many computers do we actually have on the fleet?

I was wondering, we've got quite a few members, but i know most of us have more than one(i've got two!) so how many do we have crunching now?
 
5 accounting for 6.6 GHz at home....😀

and 16 at work! 😀

Around 40 to 44 WU's per day depending on who turns the PC's off! :|

Well, let's see. 1...2...3...4...5...6..7...8...9...10...11...12...13...14...15...16...17...18...19...20...oops, not enough fingers and toes. That's too many to count in my book.

I have often wondered what the total number of computers on the S@H project is. I estimate 7 to 10 million, but that's just a guess. I suppose you could take the daily output in WU's and divide by a standard such as this:

If TA does 6000 WU's in a day and a P3 1Ghz can do 4 WU's a day then we have the power of 1,500 P3 1Ghz machines crunching daily.

Now we know that there are many machines that only do one per day and a few that do 10 or more a day, so I think it is more valuable to know it in terms of some standard system. Maybe 3 WU's per day is more standard, then you could say we have about 2,000 machines crunching daily to produce 6,000 WU's.
 
I only have 12 running these days, booohoooo. 🙁

During my prime I had about 50! Man, I miss those and that was with the old 2.x to 3.00 clients...FAST.
 
Had fourteen, but am down to thirteen. The one that went away will be paying for an AthlonXP rig, which will replace it and one of the remaining thirteen, but outdo them both together in terms of production. 😀

15 for now at work...but it sucks to remove it from the all! Time to talk to the guys in the IT dept. again! Grrrrrr! :|

An even dozen at this point. Slowest being a Celery 500 and fastest is a 1.0GHz Athlon o/c by 5% (but, my PIII-1.0-M laptop kicks butt, too!)
 
Sadly I had more running than I do now🙁
I had 5-6 PC's running (that were mine, yes including the P 100's I had running😉).
Now I have 3 🙁
1x 166 MHz Pclassic (non-mmx🙁)
1x 1.0 GHz Athlon T-Bird
2x 200 MHz PPro (should be 4x but stupid OS trubbles 🙁)

Total WU production a day: ~5 (on a good day) and sometimes 6 (166 kicks in).
 
i dont have a farm but i have a nice little herb garden....

and as soon as i get the rest of it in from newegg my new recruit
athlon xp 1800+ that will hopefully double my production of wu's 🙂

Celeron 500 @ 564 on an Abit BP6, another CPU to be added soon hopefully 😀
Part-time (when my mum needs to use comp) AMD K6-233

Friend's comps:
Athlon 1.2
Duron 750 24/7
P3 600 24/7 (i think)

Dad's K6-2 500 (when it's on)

That makes it 4 full time, 3 part time 🙂

I do about 10-12 WUs a day (before the introduction of the Celeron)

3 intermittent crunchers assimilated from friends/family........

Looks to me like your math is fuzzy. 14 + 1700 = 1714, not 15!

Oh, you mean one of those AMD thingies. Drats. I was drooling all over the keyboard at the thought of somebody bringing a fleet of 1700+ 'puters aboard.

Good luck with it. Find out what their objections are. I had some IT Consultants in at work, and was talking with them about SETI, and they were under the impression it clogged up networks, slowed them way down. This opinion formed of course by never running it themselves, or conducting tests, or running a packet sniffer or anything like that. 🙁


BTW, I have 2 PCs at home, and 8 PCs & a test server at work cracking, this evening I'ev got 2 additional PCs at work cracking (new PCs being setup) 🙂
