nice. I miss mountain biking... :(

Why'd you stop?
When I graduated from college I was pretty hardcore. I was riding to and from work and was riding several hours several evenings a week. It was fun as well as supplemental training for my rugby career. About 12 years ago I moved to Manhattan and didn't take my bike with me. I wasn't until 2 years ago that I pulled out my bike again and it got stolen. About two months ago I bought my road bike and have been riding almost 100 miles a week since.

I just bought this beater to ride around town. Since I now live somewhere with some local trails, I will take it out and see if it still rawks my sawks. If so, I will have a new money sink...

Calorie Balance: 0 consumed - 3,600 burned = 3,600 lost

Biked 40 miles this morning, 30 yesterday and 40 on Monday. 30 or 40 tomorrow, depends on how my legs feel.
You average 20mph for 2 hours?

<UT Voice>Impressive!</UT Voice>

As long as you (road) bike often its not that hard, providing the roads are relatively flat.

My average ride that I do 2-3 days a week is...
Totals: 2,250 calories in 2 hr 40 min
Male 16, 6'1", 155 lb: BMI=20.4 BMR=1,852 RMR=1,787
Bicycling - 16-19 mph (very vigorous)
2,250 calories in 2 hr 40 min
If I'm out for distance it looks more like this...
Totals: 3,375 calories in 6 hr
Male 16, 6'1", 155 lb: BMI=20.4 BMR=1,852 RMR=1,787
Bicycling - 12-13.9 mph (moderate)
3,375 calories in 6 hr

Notice I slow down a bit.

I guess I am just used to local terrain where 17mph avg speed is FAST! I rode 30 miles yesterday with 2 CAT3 and 1 CAT4 racers and they were pretty knackered at that pace....

says I burned anywhere from 610 to 622 calories on my run yesterday, which seems about right since running burns roughly 100 calories per mile.

I swear I lose a couple pounds after 45 minutes of hockey. Didn't even think about playing in the summer. I'm trying to gain weight.
