October/November has the highest birthday rate, we love to make babies in the cold. (sorry Australia, but most of the earth's population is in the Northern Hemisphere)

~18 million

Try ~ 16,427,104

"~" indicates "approximately"

At any rate, I was using a population of 6.7 billion, which is much closer to today's estimated world population.

there's a big difference between 16.4 Million and 18 Million....I don't think it would qualify as "approximately".

And if you used 6.7 Billion, you should have indicated as such.

Or, you know, ~6 billion / ~365.25

Presumes equal distribution of birthdays, which is no where near the case.

Presumes that the OP asked for an AVERAGE.

Less than a 10% margin of error. No different than if you estimated 9 when the answer was 10.

Depends on how you read the question. The way I see it, there is one (the current day of the year). Now if you ask how many people have a birthday on any given day, that is a different question.

Dividing by 365 does not take into account seasonal mating patterns of human beings.
