Watch Superman Returns. Watch what happens when you encase a kryptonian data crystal inside kryptonite and throw it in the ocean. Also notice what happens when Lois' son gets mad, all of this can be pinpointed to Krypton blowing up and Kal-El escaping to Earth to mingle with humans.

Seriously. I saw it in a movie once. You should watch it too and you'll be informed.

A very good read by someone not wrapped up in hysteria.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bj%C3%B8rn_Lomborg

On January 6, 2003 the DCSD reached a decision on the complaints. The ruling was a mixed message, deciding the book to be scientifically dishonest, but Lomborg himself not guilty because of lack of expertise in the fields in question:[4]

Objectively speaking, the publication of the work under consideration is deemed to fall within the concept of scientific dishonesty. ...In view of the subjective requirements made in terms of intent or gross negligence, however, Bjørn Lomborg's publication cannot fall within the bounds of this characterization. Conversely, the publication is deemed clearly contrary to the standards of good scientific practice.

The DCSD cited The Skeptical Environmentalist for:

1. Fabrication of data;
2. Selective discarding of unwanted results (selective citation);
3. Deliberately misleading use of statistical methods;
4. Distorted interpretation of conclusions;
5. Plagiarism;
6. Deliberate misinterpretation of others' results.

From the same wikipedia page

On December 17, 2003, the Ministry annulled the decision made by DCSD.

God damn. I've taken environmental science classes where some of the more enviro-type people are not as idiotic as the OP.

I vote 2,000 indirectly for miscellaneous reasons. Probably very close to zero.

All the people screaming about the sky falling because of global warming should take a hard look at the data, realize that there are more pressing environmental and human health issues, and then redirect all their energy towards something more productive. That isn't to say reducing your carbon footprint and reducing consumption is a bad thing, but it should not become a way of being smug.

Also read about the many "wrong truths" in that movie. For instance, the warmest decade was not the 1990's, but the 1930's, there have in fact been fewer hurricanes this decade than predicted, and so on.

Speaking of playing with the data NASA's curious climate capers

And OP I guess you didn't get the word that "Global Warming" is no longer in use, it is now called "Climate Change" so that the sky can always be falling whether temps rise or fall.

If anything has caused "climate change" its the cutting down of too many damn trees and not replanting.

LOL! Got to love those poll results!

All you have to do is look at Mars to see what's in store for the Earth. Recently they even photographed what looks like part of a tree stump sunk in sediment in a spot that looks like a washout area.

NASA Mars photo leaked - wood found on mars!

Global warming and cooling is cyclical, too, and can even be based on sunspots which effect solar radiation. And right now, we are in an unexplained sunspot minimum which may temporarily counter the effects of global warming. But the facts are that in the long term, the temperatures will steadily rise on the Earth. And the atmosphere will slowly dissolve away into space, just like Mars did naturally. And even the temperature of Mars has been slowly creeping upwards for the whole time we have been monitoring it.

Do you think there are more, or less trees in the US than there was 200 years ago?

The US probably has more...but I am thinking globally. Think rain forests

WTF did you just link?

"The aliens live on the surface of the moon, but this is in no way saying that there isn?t an alien presence inside the moon as well."

"One of the most famous examples of this is the Apollo 16 ?Earth rise? photo in which ?the Earth? is rising over the moon. NASA says that the object in the picture is the Earth and few people question it. If you think for yourself, and look with an open mind, you will clearly see that this is a UFO."

:confused:

Such rubbish.

LOL! :laugh:

I only posted that link because it linked to other pics of the "trees" on Mars from NASA, not for the UFO rubbish.

My humble apologies sire. :p

What he said. Supposedly in the next century, average worldwide temperature is going to rise around 3 degrees C. This is according to the latest numbers that the IPPC guys drew blindfolded out of a hat.

That 3C too far outside your tolerance level?

How many deaths can be attributed due to the combination of the car and alcohol the world over.

and I am not just talking this year, last year or the past 30 years... I mean since Ford rolled the first car off the line.

What is the point of worrying about global warming when people can't do something as simple as not drink and drive or simply pay attention to the goddamned road.

when we can get a handle on that as a civilization then we can tackle global warming.

Apparently we are too fucking dumb to be responsible drivers but we are expected to handle "global warming"?

what a crock of shit.
