How Many Are Using XP64?

Just curious as to how many folks here have made the switch.
I have to buy a new OS, and have been considering just making the switch to 64, but I don't know if I will or not. I am wondering if my external cable modem would have any compatibility issues.

I bought it ($10 :p) but haven't installed it yet. I kinda can't until I have an Athlon 64 system, which I don't yet. ;)

Also there aren't 64-bit drivers available for my HDTV tuner, and I can't live without that, so I think it'll be a while before I switch/upgrade.

I used it but had too many issues with it.

Going to give it some time to mature and get everything running smooth. Then I'll switch back.

Checked it out. What a waste. No drivers, compatability issues out the bunghole, and no performance benefits in anything but like 3 programs which no one uses. Dumped that useless bitch and went back to Pro. 64-bit having a point for home/gaming use is years away.

Agree with Bar81. There really aren't hardly any applications that can use it or require it - so it is like a hot rod parked in the garage. When 64-bit software is a common choice, then it has purpose. I give it about another year. When Microsoft Office, 64-bit edition pops up, or a 64 bit edition of PhotoShop arrives,it will then start to have meaning.

I installed it last night and was able to install all my apps except Norton Systemworks. I am looking for Symantec Antivirus Corp 10 since that is a 64 bit app.

I'm interested in it cause I can get it for free for only another week since I have XP Pro. I'm curious how the license exchange works though. If I already have the 32-bit version installed, can I keep it installed until I'm ready to install x64? Or can I even use both?

most people will tell u to NOT put 64 and 32 on the same drive.

the safer way to go is to install 64 on a fresh new hard drive

*edit* haha, i guess i dind't really answer your question. AFAIK, u don't have to install 64 if you don't want to.

but i'm not sure about using both at the same time

They would be on separate hard drives. :)

Unfortunately, the only reason to switch to XP64 right now is to have the "latest and greatest". Other than that, there's currently no advantage whatsoever.

Unless you have an application that can use over 2 GB of RAM by itself. :D

Ran it for a month or so but needed my Tuner card so I went back to x32.

The support is just not there yet.
