He's still America's greatest con artist. Putin loves his act.

Off topic a bit, but say what you like about Putin, the man knows how to make a fukkin decision and make it early enough to matter.... and he ain't afraid of being unpopular in the process.

Russia has a land border with China over 2,500 miles long... yet numbers from the entirety of Russia are only 90 cases, 0 dead and 8 recovered.

So you admit he's a completely ineffective and incompetent leader who spreads dangerous misinformation that is contrary to his own experts?
Incompetence to me would be muzzling his experts, or firing Dr. Fauci, which he has not done. Despite Trump’s bravado, the health experts are leading the charge, as they have done for past Presidents.

Taking the politics out of it, I also recognize the challenge of managing a global pandemic for which carriers are asymptomatic, and trying to isolate patient zero’s in a transient and global economy.

We will flatten the curve based on the little decisions that we as individuals make. As I am writing this, a large gaggle of bored teenagers just rode past my house on their bikes.

Is he an effective leader in a crisis?
His bravado style would work well in certain crisis situations, but because no one trusts him, it has proven ineffective, further exasperated by election year politics.

WAPO actually has a good article comparing Trump’s response to Merkel’s, and Merkel is a leader I have tremendous respect for.

I challenge you to name a single global crisis whereupon an untrustworthy failed businessman with bravado (I'll reminder you that the definition of bravado is the pretense of bravery) would actually be a good thing.

Funny you don't considering contradicting Dr. Fauci's recommendations in real time incompetence. Trump's people think this is either a hoax or not a big deal.

Incompetence is contradicting your own experts, which Trump continues to do.

Amazing how real credibility and genuine leadership are so much more important and effective than bullshitter's bravado and bluster in a real crisis, isn't it?

But I'm sure no one has warned anyone about this in the last 4 years..

Donald is not smart or brave enough to deal with these problems. We need a real leader and we don't have one. He's also not smart enough to put someone else in charge. Maybe somebody powerful in the RNC will coerce the guy into getting assistance from a more knowledgeable person. Sad as it sounds that's our best hope right now.
Donald isn't smart enough to run a car wash put on by a scout troop.

Trump is leading this crisis as he has every other crisis
Trump is still is in reality TV show mode, as his entire presidency has been. At the end of taping he just wants to say 'that a wrap' and go eat a cheeseburger.

Michael Osterholm (Joe Rogan podcast) conserative estimates are: 98m infected, 48m hospalizations, nearly 500k deaths. I think it's going to be double those numbers myself. The Spanish flu killed over 650k people. The population in America in the early 1900s was only a fraction of what it is today. We are going to see many many deaths play out. Much like in Italy I'm afraid, and much of it will be concentrated in cities. The rest will be spread out in less dense areas. I think Trump is an ass. I think this is going to cost him the presidency. I think there will be a lot of pain. I think it could had been handled better at the beginning of this pandemic.

Turn on CPAN2 and watch how nothing gets done in the country.
