That "arqueing over bla bla" quote yours? heard it a long time ago and used it sometimes my self haha...

Anyone use the stock fan/heatsink? How loud is it?

The two I've heard are very quiet. They were also in Antec Sonatas.

Yea, heard it somewhere - stuck with me

But as for the dB, I mean - I have panaflos for all my fans - my current box uses an Alpha heatsink w/ a stock 80mm which is loud.
I don't want this thing to be a vacuum cleaner.

Plus I'm getting an unshrouded Leadtek vid card so that it is quiet as well.

I like my Silence, so would I be dissapointed with the sound level on the stock fan?

If you've heard it, then you should know! dB ratings vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I've heard some "25dB" fans that are louder than 29 dB fans.

well if you really want it quiet, buy the zalman 7700 cu, its huge, (140 mm span with copper, fan 120), weighs about 1 kilo, but is very quiet in my opinion, and cools pretty much all your components...

I haven't heard them, that's the problem. I don't know anyone with them.
I really want to keep this system quiet and I am afraid that a year from now the ball-bearings on the fans will start to go and it will get loud!

well the stock coolers of the amd 64 are good, ive even heard some say very good (for stock coolers obviously), so what if the bearing get loud after a year, coolers are not very expensive, for 40 dollars u have a pretty "expensive" one...i say dont worry

I will measure it for you tomorrow if you want. What is the standard distance for sound level measurements for PC gear? 1 meter?
