Let's see.... when I fly between east and west coast...

D&D DM's guide, Monster manual, and Oriental adventure... bored to tears... fell asleep

My Jihad, a book recommanded by Maxim magazine about an American who join the Jihad in Chechnya, Afgan(during Russian occupation days)... actally a good read.... read the whole thing in about 5 hours.....

Of course Maxim, FHM, Stuff, PC Gamer can all be finished in one sitting.

2 weeks.... a couple hours a day. I don't read particularly slow, but I can never keep my attention of hte book long enough to remember what I just read.

If I start reading a book that I really like, I'll finish it in one night. I'll easily read a 500 page book in a night. I get into a book, and I wont want to put it down. I've always enjoyed reading.

Same here. If it's good, I get absorbed into it, and can't put it down. :D There have been times I've finished a book, put it down, and realized it's 5 or 6am, time to get up and go to work. :Q

Depending on how it's written, type size, verbage, I'd say 2 hours for a 200 page book. I'm a fast reader, but the point shouldn't be how fast you read, it's how much you absorb, how much you understand, and how much you enjoy. :D

Just because someone takes 3 days to read a 200 page book doesn't mean they enjoyed it any more or less than someone who took 2 hours. IMHO :D

Takes me about 5 hours to read 200 pages.
The guy sitting here beside me could read it in about 2 hours. He's the fastes reader i've ever seen. Makes me sick.

How can someone read 500 pages in an evening? :Q I would love to read that fast, but I usually read about 60 pages per hour  I can't read too long, my attention always goes away too fast.

Around 20 - 40 minutes depending on the topic, I have read books like crazy since 3rd grade and now naturally read 750 - 1750 words per minute. Ran out of books at 3 local libraries :(

P.S. No TV helps, lol

It depends on the page size, font and quality of the writing. I once read a book that was almost 1000 pages in about 8 hours and it had a small font.

I think the reason for the wildly different estimates is just different books/font sizes. In any edition of LOTR, most have big pages with little fonts, takes me about 4-5 hours to read 200 pages. I could read 200 pages in a harry potter book in 2 hours.

1-2 hours. Have read 300+ pages in an hour b4. Depends on the writing style of the Author, some I wonder how some ever got published. Most read in 4 hours was Battlefield Earth paperback, 1050 pgs.

I have pretty women who read to me.
I suppose it would take them 3 to 4 hours.
I wouldn't want you to ask me the plotline, however...
they read in the nude.

Hour to an hour and a half. My summer job was reading novels, and I'd go through 700 pages or so in a day. It really depends on the font size, and the style of writing. I mean, 200 pages of pop fiction is going to go really fast, while 200 pages of classical lit may take longer.

like 40 to 50 mins, if its normal novel size. i've been reading at 4ppm since like 5th grade or earlier or something.

blah, it sucks, run out of books too fast. i buy a book, all with anticipation, and an hour later, its all done.

I also cannot keep my attention long enough. I also end up reading extremely slow...so probably well into weeks.
