How long would it take for you to read a 200pg book?

Depends on the topic... if it's database management systems probably a couple days. If it's a fantasy novel then I would say 3-4 hours if I am hooked.

In the sci-fi genre, a 200 page book isn't a book, it's a short story, and only takes a couple of hours to read. A good, satisfying book should be around 1000 pages (or more!)

Now, if it's about database admin, or tcp/ip routing, that's a different story :)

a pleasure book, that's something I am interested in, would take probably between 2 and 2.5 hours, maybe less. Something technial, a whole hell of a lot longer.

Same here. It really depends on the format.

if it's a textbook from skool, then i'll read 10 pages and fall asleep. then never look at it again.

if it's a novel.... haha.. i won't get past the first page.

if it's a magazine, then prob 1-2 hours, (although i've never seen a mag with over 150 pgs).

if it's a book that I really wanted to read, then prob 1-4 hours.

I read Clancy novels in 2-3 evenings (~2 hours per evening), so I'll say 60-90 minutes if it's a novel.

3 hours for recreational reading............ days or weeks maybe even months for school/work reading ;) It all depends on the interest level of the material :D

2 weeks.... a couple hours a day. I don't read particularly slow, but I can never keep my attention of hte book long enough to remember what I just read.

If I start reading a book that I really like, I'll finish it in one night. I'll easily read a 500 page book in a night. I get into a book, and I wont want to put it down. I've always enjoyed reading.
