How long would it take for a "small" cavity to progress to needing a root canal?

from the sound of it what the dentist is talking about is putting either a cap on your teeth or just filling the holes, not a true cavity filling where there is drilling and everything. They might numb ya up for partial drilling but really they arent going to be doing anything to major.
However its one of those things that dentists suggest to make a few extra bucks if you are taking care of your teeth fairly well frankly. Its not something you really need, and you might get cavities anyways, but it provides a level of protection for like 3-5 years before it wears off and they will say "it looks like we need to do it again". You can keep doing it over and over getting charged a bunch each time, or you can let it form into a cavity and go through the whole drilling painful process once, possibly more times as the filling may fall out over time.

No, he wanted to do fillings. EDIT: Oh, nm. I assumed he wanted to drill as well, but I don't know.

You Dentists are all the same. Do they teach you in dental school to bullshit your way through sales?

None of you are even answering the man's question, but just throwing around anti-dentite and asking why the person doesn't want to pay up the ass for a tiny filling.

Just more proof that Dentists are scumbags and only care about money. I'm glad you guys have the highest suicide rates 😉

I don't know why you signed up here to post in a 14 year-old thread and insult other members, but, whatever the reason, that kind of behavior isn't wanted here.

Just FYI, if you mix together some Clove Oil with zinc oxide until it forms a paste, and put it on your cavity, it acts as a temporary filling that can last years. YouTube a tutorial on how to do it.

Might cost you less than $8 and you can pay for those scumbags' spoiled kids to go to college when you're ready

Please - lighten up or go away.
