How long woudl this last?

there is nothing wrong with that machine. what are you using it for? i threw together a machine for my mother to use to for email and light web browsing out of spare parts and it is a k6-2-3D 300 w/ 128mb ram and a trident 1mb pci video card, and it is great for her. she loves it. as long as you dont notice any lag or problems just go with it. besides, with all the stuff coming relatively soon (northwood, nforce, etc. etc. etc.) just go with it until you can afford something else, if you want it at all.

As long as it does what you want it to do, no more no less. Seriously I have a friend that is still using Pentium 233 with 64 megs of ram and Win95. For his needs, Word and e-mail it does ok. Without stating what you use your PC for that?s about the only answer you?ll get that make sense.

I'm using a bx-133 solution right now. I have a slot1 P3-650@866 and 512megs pc-133 with a geforce 2 32meg. It runs everything I throw at it very well, right now I'm running winxp pro and all my games work fine as well as all my productivity apps. I plan on using it until they come out with something that really catches my eye as something that will really make a difference in my computing experience. Maybe clawhammer with a geforce 4 or something?
