Hey guys...

I was going to buy PC133 ram from crucial early this week, but wont get the fat cheque till Sunday.

How stable is the SDRAM market right now?

How long do you think it will be before the prices go up?

Odd that you mentioned it, because I just threw in the 256 MB module I bought last week for a little over 60 bucks. It just keeps going down in price.

Everytime it seems to have hit rock bottom it drops just a little bit lower. I say buy it whenever you can... god knows when it will finally start rising again. It wouldnt have thought it could possibly get this low and there still seems to sign that it's stopped dropping yet.

Bah! Bah I say!! When it was at $80 ($75 with promo) I thought it was as low as it could go so I bought 2 (256MB DIMMs), and now it's $62! This is absurd....

DDR SDRAM is officially under a quarter a meg from Crucial.com....

Good for the rest of you though :D

Does anyone ever stop and think that RAM probably will NOT rise in price. In all the time I've ever been using computers (9 or 10 years now), I've seen RAM go up ONCE (about a year and a half ago). It took a while to come back down, but it did. At all other times ram has just dropped in price over time. I say don't bother with the "buy it before it goes back up" crap. Buy the ram whenever you need it and be happy. Just like anything computer in 2 months it'll be cheaper than what you paid for it.

I have yet to buy RAM for more than I bought it before. I keep hearing this hype but to me that's all it is...

the main difference now with the price drops though, is that you can afford more RAM than you need easily. Before, you would always see a performance boost when you added RAM, but it was expensive..now you can inexpensively add more memory to your system than you will be able to use.

I think it will last only until the RAMBUS is well and truly out of the picture....then we might see some price stability and perhaps even price rises. Seems that RAMBUS is pretty much beaten anyway if you ask me :p
