I don't care what anyone says... unless you want the latest and greatest or just ABSOLUTELY need to have 150 fps over 125 fps in a game (which is freakin insane)... your 4400+ will be fine for a while yet. I own the same proc and I love the thing to death. Most games don't even use both processors yet!
The only thing I plan on getting a Core 2 Duo in is a laptop. Intel basically has the laptop market on lockdown.
I just find it amazing how so many lovers of the X2s for the past year just turn their backs on AMD when Intel hasn't even released the product yet!
They are turning their backs on AMD because of the reviews, the benchmarks, and the prices on the new Core 2 Duo chips.
People want value.
It is foolish(and this is from a guy with "fool" in his name, heh) to religiously follow only one brand for any computer component. Cpu's, videocards, HD's, whatever... parts are parts if they do what you need in the right price range.
Your 4400+ should last a good while longer but newer, faster and less expensive(at least what you paid) cpu's are on the horizon in the very near future. This is how it works in the computer game. Your old stuff always becomes worthless. My old P3-1Ghz used to be worth over a grand and I bet I couldn't even get $20 for it now, heh.
