How long will a freezer full of bulk beef last with no power

Upright deep freeze in garage, power went off approx 8:00 pm last night. Ambient temp in garage was about 40 last night and probably upper 50's today. The power has still not come back on yet, and I don't get off of work until 4:30. I expected it to come back on this morning, but apparently the idiot who hit the power poles with his car did extensive damage.

Freezer contains approx 200 lbs of meat (chicken, deer, and beef), and about 30 lbs of other frozen goodness. It has not been opened since the power outage.

As long as you don't open it I'd say at least 24 hours. Probably more like 48+ with that much in it. Whatever you do, don't open it.

This.

Especially since it was packed full. If it wasn't as full, it would probably last less time overall.

If there is any room for ice, grab some at the gas station and pack it in.

The rule-of-thumb is two days unopened for a freezer in the house. Your freezer in a cold garage would probably make it to three days. I'd throw a big BBQ party tomorrow if I were you and just eat it up.

Buy some dry ice blocks at the store and put them in your freezer during your lunch break.

Just make sure it remains alternator shaped or if it melts to much toss it out.

If you can pick up a 1kw inverter, hook the freezer up to your vehicle. You only have to run it evry so often to keep the temps down. I did that during a hurricane once. A 1kw inverter should cost about $100.

Alternator sized bulk beef?

Don't open the freezer and it will keep for a while. Especially if it is pretty full.

get some bags of ice if necessary and store them in cooler as a last resort.

I can't buy them where I live in NC except for small blocks one at a time. They require ID now to certify you are 18 +
Kids were buying it and using it for other purposes.

What else can you use it for?

When we moved, we relocated our freezer full of beef. It kept completely solid in a closed freezer for about 48 hours, probably would be good (thawing but still fridged) for another 48. Our was vacuum packed, which might make a dif.

Google Dry Ice Pranks

The main was kids would take dry ice, crush it up , put in a 2 liter bottle with a little water , cap it and let it sit. It explodes really really loud.
