How long to wait after arctic silver

Got an athlonxp 1700 and followed instructions from their website, using a Volcano 12 heatsink/fan combo, just wondering how long you people wait before switching on.

This is probably the coolest thing I heard about thermal paste...

The instruction is somewhat unclear, I admit, but it doesnt mean to have you wait after applying the stuff; it just mentions that the thermal conductivity becomes better and reaches best values after about 200 hours of operation. So, the longer you wait, the longer you are away from best results with the paste...

Got the same one! It either called the POLO 735 or Volcano 12, who knows! Yea after properly using the thermal paste I got temps of 45C according to my Abit mobo and by the sounds of it here it's really 35C. Just put the thermal sensor close but not on the CPU die because mine got crushed from that! Good luck!

You don't have to wait to turn it on, all it says is that the arctic silver takes about 100-200hrs of use for it to reach it's efficency. Coincedentially, I have the same hs and cpu . I'm running at 2ghz on the CPU and I have not seen the CPU temp go above 41, even after 6 hours of Prime95. Do you have the B core on your 1700?
