How long do you think it will be before the iPod Touch is hacked? I am hoping that by the end of October it is. I really want one as a PDA, but I need to wait. It's killing me :)

At worst a day or two, hehe. Sounds like it is very similar to the iPhone, OS-wise, and hackers have been able to figure that out pretty well now.

ok. so wait. the ipod touch as it stands now, cant connect to any access point?

also confusing because 1) the article is kinda weird and 2) it seems like they are talking about the iphone at certain points.

From what I got from the article they are saying the touch is really an iphone under the surface, With a microphone, speaker, and cellular radio.

""Not only that, but we have been able to speak clearly into the bottom of the device so it is already halfway pwned. We've even been able to hear the other party across distances as great as a relatively quiet room. Our next target is international calling."

"Indeed. This product apparently incorporates a lot of advanced technology to thwart hackers. The microphone, the speaker, and even the cellular radio itself have been very difficult to find. There isn't even a SIM slot, so we're thinking that it may use CDMA. I am searching for a digital lockpick. It might come in handy if I, the master of unlocking, took it with me."

"Spread the word of the great work we're doing. And next time I will call you from my Zune phone."

No see, he was saying (the whole article is parody you see) that they cannot find the mic, speaker, or cell radio. Also no SIM slot... that's cuz you can't use it as a phone. I like the bit about how they can be heard from as great a distance as a relatively quiet room when they are speaking clearly into the phone. :)
