How long should I charge my 2500maH AA batteries for the first time?

Depends on your charger. If you have one of the top chargers, it could do the job in 8 hrs or even less. A cheapie could take up to 18 hrs and still not really get a full charge on 'em.

.bh.

8 Min I would still worry about high internal temps, blowers or not. Fast charge in about 2 hours is what mine does.

Cheap chargers are mostly some conservative fixed voltage and a timer, and rarely do a good job.
Best do a smart delta voltage/current sensing thing, plus some will condition old batteries in various ways.

yup. who cares. per charge its so cheap in the end ur quibbling about a couple cents saved if u waste your time obsessing over em.

We really need to know the Output voltage to make an accurate quess - how example I have a 700mA charger which takes between 2-3Hours for 2300mAh cells: roughly cell mAh divided by charger Ma Output.

the best 2500mah batteries you can buy with charger are the Energizer's 15 min charger.

Batteries stay cool so it prolongs the life of the batteries and recharging nearly charges it back to almost 100%.

And the charger is not set on a timer like most chargers, which destroy the batteries. Instead the charger uses a complicated algorithm to calculate how much charging needs to be done.
