i mean how difficult is it.you have light sabers to chop limbs. thats gameplay right there. you have force powers so you can also make magic combat. you have force jump so none would complain if you made double jump power. force unleashed seemed to be going in the right direction. alright visuals. okay force powers. shitty sword chopping. force unleashed 2 improved the sword game play but alas it ended after like 6 levels. how hard could it be. people would buy these games and enjoy them just for the philosophical jedi cut scenes. just for character design of jedi robes. my favorite is still jedi academy which i have to return to several times a year because there is just nothing else. stupid world. no good startwars games. no good lord of th rings games. no good spider man games

The next Battlefront game is still under development, but it's the "next big thing" when it comes to Star Wars. And, unfortunately, Star Wars 1313 got cancelled, and it might have been a fresh take on Star Wars gameplay mechanics (it looked like Mass Effect, albeit in a grittier tone, collided with Star Wars, at least that's how I perceived it from the trailer that they did release).

I actually liked The Force Unleashed, one of the best Star Wars games I had played in a long time, quite challenging too, but the PC port was atrocious. I never played Force Unleashed 2, although I have watched some footage of it and a few video reviews and indeed it's apparently very short and "rushed", and that's unfortunate since the original was actually good (well, in my opinion anyway, and the voice actor they got for Darth Vader was stunningly good).

We haven't seen much of the next Battlefront but I'm almost certain that it won't be bad, if anything it will be just as good as the original BF or Battlefront 2 (which was also quite good) but rendered with a modern engine, with good physics and visuals, etc. But the one type of Star Wars game I'd like to see would essentially be a Mass Effect / Knights of the Old Republic one (could just have said KOTOR but Mass Effect had a more refined approach for the dialogue wheel system, in my opinion).

We've had KOTOR, but we need something similar again I think, very much story-driven, probably mostly linear (wouldn't be much of a problem if done well), or perhaps more open world for exploration (à-la Mass Effect). You'd "hire" teammates (or they'd simply join you willingly, etc), ending up with a team, a ship (or an actual HQ building, or both!), would have a "galaxy map" style interactive grid in which you could select places to explore or just gather quests from ("Hubs"), etc. I know, again, KOTOR did that to a good degree, but... ok let's put it this way, we need KOTOR 3, period.

I wouldn't mind a Dragon Age(ish) treatment of KOTOR 3...codexes and all.

As for Battlefront 2015, is there any chance it will be first person? Not keen on turd person.

Apart from very brief CGI clips, there's not been any info on battlefront. I would assume first since it's being done by dice, and my assumption is a bit of 'star wars battlefiled', but I could be wrong about what it actually is.

I just don't understand why no one will make KOTOR 3 either. It is the obvious choice for a star wars game. So much potential for a great story there to follow up and merge the story lines of Revan and the Exile. Alas, everyone just wants to make a multiplayer shooter. Guess that is just easier than making a good story driven RPG.

Revan's Story is followed up in Tor.....and Exile; don't think there is anything. Is Tor KOTOR 3 nope; but with that around - I don't know if we'll ever get a KOTOR 3 as bioware owns the rights...

Thing is I'd rather have Obisdian make Kotor3 as Kotor2 even with its problems and Atari being asses and forcing it out earlier has far far better writing than Kotor 1......since Revan's story has somewhat been finish......*there are massive gaps that could be done in a Kotor 3* I'd rather kinda see more what happened with the Exile.......*I need to finish my playthrough again*

I would love a Yoda Stories 2, that game was great fun and I only found out about it when it appeared on school computers. It survived 5 years of attempted deletions and I spent many a session in the library playing it. As far as KOTOR3/SWTOR goes if they make a offline version (with multiplayer option) I'll jump at it, just not into MMO's anymore.

I honestly can't see Disney doing a good Star Wars game without it being PG or Skylanders/Lego based. However there is talk of Star Wars mods for Star Citizen once it's finished, which should be pretty good.

Seriously? MMOs and quality single player RPGs are a completely different experience. In fact, when Bioware/EA went the cash cow route with KOTOR, hoping to make another WOW, is when I lost all respect for both of them. In fact, one could easily argue that Bioware has not put out a quality game since then.

You can play SWTOR single play thru the first 50 levels basically...

TIE Fighter
X-Wing Alliance
Dark Forces I & II
Episode I Racer. The only good thing to come out of Episode I.
Rebel Assault was kind of fun and goofy. Ah, the glory days of FMV.

I think it all started to fall apart after 2003. Republic Commando and KOTOR of course were great, but they never made anything decent after that. Force Unleashed was an okay God of War clone, but nothing really mind blowing. The physics engine didn't really live up to its promise.

We must wait as long as it takes for another good Star Wars movie to be released. So, forever.

Obsidian already volunteered to do all the work. Disney decided cash payoffs from EA was more important.

I'm not sure about that. I was never into the LotR games and Shadow of Mordor looks really f'in good. Even if it's not strictly canon.

I would love an visually updated Star Wars Rebellion.

Just a visual update? I loved Rebellion but it had some serious UI and mechanic issues to go along with it.

SWTOR is decent as a sort-of KOTOR 3. The single-player stories aren't as focused as in a real single-player game but on the plus side there are 8 different class stories (plus a bunch of shared quests).

I'd love to have Obsidian make KOTOR (3 / 4), but that seems very unlikely :(

At least we're getting real RPGs from Obsidian and InXile thanks to KickStarter even if they aren't Star Wars.
