That little piece of flexible bone that sits right at the front bottom of where your bottom most ribs meet to form your rib cage.

I think mine is longer than its supposed to be... its a good 3 inches.

this is the strangest thread i've read to date!

1) there is no such thing as a "wishbone" on a person.
2) on a turkey, the clavicle's (aka collarbones) are joined together in front, and is commonly referred to as a "wishbone"
3) the "correct" name for the wishbone is the furcula

you my friend do not have a furcula..

in answer to your question..how long is it supposed to be?
depends on the bird your carving up....

humans don't have wishbones.

where your ribs meet at the bottom of your ribcage is called the xiphoid process and is shaped nothing like a wishbone. neither is the cartilage on your ribs that articulate with it.

you are either delusional or are a freak of human nature.

the xyphoid (or xiphoid) process is the "Pope's Nose" on the chicken or turkey - it a cartilagnous
attachment to the bottom of the sternum. the rectus muscle inserts onto it. it can calcifify later in life, become an
"outie" later in life and sort of poke up into the air. I have seen cases where the xyphoid has been traumatized, and a bar of calcium
begins to form from it, which extends downwards from it towards the umbilicus.

if someone had a 3 inch xyphoid - i guess i would have to agree that that is most unusual.
