How long is Nikon's standard warranty?

Went out to do some shooting today and after about 8 or so pictures my 18-55 broke. The zoom ring is stuck at 55mm and I can't move it, and the other piece of the lens is loose.

Does anyone know how long Nikon's standard warranty is? I got the camera/lens 2 years ago. I'm really hoping that it's covered... this is just another thing that I don't need right now.

I'm not 100% sure, but as far as I can tell all Nikon branded lenses have a five year warranty.

afaik in the USA it's 5 years - 1 year international & 4 years "US extension".

often times if something breaks and its out of warrenty they will still fix it for free
